Of Sensex and Sentiments

BSE closed today at 19289.83 down by 111 points frm yes'day's close n this my dear frnds has resulted in a 2.3% decrease in my portfolio value. Except for Jindal Saw, all other stocks in my portfolio showed a downturn today. Profit booking is causing this down trend if we are to believe the analysts. Anyway, the R-pack stocks look lik thy r making heavy corrections. It would definitely be a gud idea to pick these stocks in the comin days if u wish to stay invested for a period over a year at the minimum. The market wud also see some slowdown in the month of december wen the FII's liquidate their holdings to pay out dividends in their home countries. Diwali season has played its role in the markets as diligently as it does every year. Except for a day, wen the Sensex dipped into the 17 thousands we have witnessed some phenomenal highs in the last month or so. Analysts around the world are yet to make up their mind on the forthcoming months. With diverse comments such as the Sensex touching the peak of 23ooo to comments abt a US slowdown to show a definite effect on the indian market analysts are predicting it all. But as thy say there is nothin more difficult to predict thn mass sentiment - the reason why friday seals the fate of even the most distinguished film-makers. One only hopes that the indian markets are not witnessing an "irrational exuberance" - the phrase made famous by Alan Greenspan, the ex-FedReserve chairman. Till we know tht for sure, ride the wave and make merry!!

tomm is diwali...i can hear the crackers rite here in my room..did some little stuff today..like help decorating my apartment with tiny lights...it felt really nice after the last few years of celebrating the festival away from home. Reminded me of the gud ole times wen i stayed in a small colony n celebrated the festival wth all the colony kids.Now i can hardly remember any of them being in india leave only in the same city. Gone with those times are the days wen kids had playgrounds to play, nw thy even lack a few gud friends who stay nearby their home. Video games n computers are their trusted companions. Wonder what kind of people thy wl grow into with a complete lack of concern for almost anythin but the self. Anyway, diwali is here and it fills me with joy..wishing everyone a very happy diwali. Let the lights shine forever. Be good and remember to enjoy the festival safely :)

finally, musharraf the man himself may have to bend his knees to the US diktat..shed the uniform and hold the elections at the earliest...wth musharraf havin declared an emergency in pakistan, the entire drama had reached a high-point..the much needed intervention by the pak ally has brought some hope to the citizens of pakistan..here are some stats on hw the pak economy ws affected by one man's covetousness of power..

“The stock exchange had the largest fall in its history yesterday; it fell 635 points,” Arshad Zuberi, deputy CEO of the Karachi-based Business Recorder told The Media Line.

The fall wiped more than $300 million off the value of the Karachi stock exchange.

In addition to the above there were talks of cuts in the aid given to pak which has been to the tune of $11 bn since 9/11 and was estd to be $800 mn in 2008 however now tht musharraf has agreed to conduct the elections as scheduled, the situation seems to be deflating. A point to note is tht he has yet not committed on shedding the uniform..

well, my first post..not really, have posted on my old blogs now long lost n forgotn..hehehe..
so introducing myself: female, 20 something, india, metro-cised MBA (money before anything..lol), joyful yet lost in the journey of life..hmm..yea tht's me..

spare time..yea blogs call for velapanti (joblessness as non-indians call it) to keep them alive
a need to write down little notes to myself as reminders of all things essential or otherwise
a curiousity to know if anyone wud b intersted in my life, my thots n anything tht has nothing to do wth anyone but me..weird!!
extra practice to better my typing skills..LOL
