Some musings
So, it's been a while since i wrote something but then i never promised myself to write regularly, just when i feel like it. Today i do feel like penning down something...the past two months have been really hectic with a lot of travel, new experiences..it is exactly at times like these when all those unanswered questions of life come back to me. I don't know if it is just me or if everyone goes through days when they ask themselves why they are wasting moments of their precious life doing things that don't really matter to them. I spend hours of my waking and sleeping life trying to understand what it is that i really want to achieve in my life and how i can get that without wasting more precious time. After all our breaths are numbered. Slowly, these questions have begun to stop bothering me and only keep me mentally occupied. I think this is because i have now become all too familiar with them. I have dwelled so much on these thoughts that these philosophical musings are an alternate universe where i exist. I have also begun to dream and imagine more and i now strongly believe that the power to imagine is one of the most beautiful gifts that we possess. Our imagination is the only place where we are really free with nothing to hide and no one to judge.

Midnite coffee and More
I just finished my midnite cup of light coffee, it's a newly found ritual which i find comforting and relaxing. The tv is switched on while I type out this post. Today was a lovely saturday. Watched the Natalie Portman starrer "Black Swan". Must say the movie was amazing and kudos to NP for the excellent portrayal of Nina, the ballerina. A great watch for those who love drama and fantasy. Also paid a trip to a gaming arcade and played some games - these games although made for kids still never fail to entertain me..there is something about a challenge that one loves, no matter what age. Unfortunately, my fave the Dance Revolution was not available at this particular arcade. Completed my outing with a good chinese cuisine dinner at a fine dining restaurant close to home. Reached home just in time to watch the final overs of the India-SA match and was both happy & sad with the result. Happy cos I had predicted SA would win this one and sad cos it was my country that lost it :( . The plan now is to probably watch a hollywood flick before I hit bed. Just in case you are wondering, i am a pretty big movie buff :)..ciao, good nite!

TBBT - Love this sitcom
I just had to post this today. I have fallen in love with this sitcom (TBBT- The Big Bang Theory for the uninitiated). It has now been running 4 seasons on CBS.This sitcom is about 4 geeks and a b'ful actress/waitress that stays across their floor in the apartment. The characters are etched out b'fully. The sitcom uses the lack of social skills in the geeks to create funny to the average eye situations/dialogues. So the reasons why i like this show are -brilliant acting, good script and the fact that this show almost makes the characters a part of your real world. Ofcourse, the awesome work has not gone unrecognised and the show has won a lot of awards, the most recent being the Golden Globe for the leading actor Jim Parson. The viewership was about 15M when i last checked. Highly recommended watch for anyone who loves intelligent humour and hasn't yet seen it. If you are in India, you will need to download the episodes from the internet since it is not running currently on the Indian channels. Zee Cafe had run the first three seasons but the 4th hasn't been aired here to my knowledge. For further information, please look up TBBT on wikipedia :)
Mar 8 2011 - Long live women power
today is women's day and I wish each & every woman a very happy women's day!! i am not really the feminist type but yes, i do support the causes these women are fighting for, w/o subscribing to their thoughts n little respect for the menfolk in general. This does not mean that i have not had my fair share of men who must be thought little of. Let's start with a particular boss of mine who is a complete MCP. This man never wants to hire women in his team for reasons like they have timing issues, other priorities etc. This despite the few women who are in the team having shown some exceptional performance and integrity towards work. Somehow, the fact that there are women who can beat him at almost anything irks him (ofcourse there a lot of men too who can do those honours :) esp considering that he has little merit n more luck to attribute his success to). i have personally seen this man compete with me on more than one occasion on the smallest of matters. Ofcourse, i have on these occasions taken secret delight on beating him. Which smart woman doesn't love a challenge n esp wen it relates to showing an MCP his rightful place. I am a strong believer in gender equality and no bias/prejudice is all i ask for. Women as we all know deserve tremendous respect for certain qualities which men do not possess much of..their sacrificing nature, their patience, their unconditional love and the like. Without these qualities i do not think the human race can survive, procreation is one thing and raising an infant is another. Women are responsible for every man on this planet, if not for their care in his infancy, the man would not exist so to disrespect a woman is to disrespect himself.
